Here is a watercolor painting I did on oriental rice paper. It is very thin and you can actually see through it.

Wish I knew the name of it as I would love to get my hands on some more.

JUST BEAUTIFUL DONN!! Mysterious and light ... moody and the colors so diffuse ...!! SUPER!

Gorgeous!! I love how the colors look like they just diffused out. If you ever find the paper, please let me know--this type has always interested me also.

Beautiful. The texture of the paper really works with the painting.

The texture of the paper is fascinating! The way the colours meld with the texture makes me think of a big leaf that can be touched. Really lovely!
Wouldn't this painting look nice printed as a card, with all the texture coming through the printing? Just my thought...

I agree with Bonny. This would make a really beautiful greeting card. I love the mysterious, almost oriental atmosphere you've created.

Thanks, everyone for you comments. If I can ever get to an art store that carries full sheets of paper, I'll let you know. Just love this paper too.

Xuan paper or Washi? Good brands are Red Star or Wang Liuji or Shu Hua Zhi.

Painting is beautiful, too. I like the mood it conveys, and how it's transparent on transparent.
